Does My Colour Express My Heart

I dance to express my feelings, I celebrate to express my customs, Do the clothes I wear express who I am? Does my colour express my heart? My soul? We all have different backgrounds, We all have different ways to express who we are. We are all different, and yet all human. Why is there so much pain? Do my beliefs tear us apart? You are my brother, my sister, and yet we suffer. I am black, you are white, who are we to criticize? Inside we are unique, special in God’s eyes. Discrimmination is the lock. Acceptance is the key. We should understand, we should love, we should unite as one.

Nice thoughts and work Melissa-Rose, and guess what, sometimes I have to look at the skin on my arm to see if I am white or if I am black. In that brief moment of realization that I am white, I wonder why...
