Does Anyone Care

Does anyone care? Maintaining peace; a peaceful existence on Earth is on almost everybody's prayer. Children; Pure and innocent, Many fragile With agile minds Broken by bullies. Those children hurry past Hiding their feelings. They sit in silence, Some commit suicide. Does anyone care? Our seniors in nursing home Isolated, wait for the rest of their lives. They sit in silence And rock in their chair Wishing for someone to care; Where are the loved ones? Family are too busy with their own lives. Does anyone care? So many veterans, Brave men and women That fought for our country. Many homeless, Struggling with hunger or illness, And no one cares. Immigrants veterans Promised citizenship In United States If they fought for our country; Our government has forbidden Them from setting foot in the nation A country they risked their lives to defend. Our government has forsaken them. Does anyone care? There is a fear in every nation Just a breath away Creating disorder, Crippling human-beings Driving them into quarantine and insanity. Will there be a cure? Does anyone care? To kneel down and pray For everyone to care. Does anyone care? 3/20/2020

So many valid questions. The answer, sadly or not lies within the poets of this world, who fight with their pen. Kind wishes, Kai

wow this is SO strong, Eve. One of the best I have seen. If you did not make that short winner list, I sure wish you had! Great job with this one. (is it really true that the immigrants who fought in our wars did not get their citizenship? I had not heard that. That is deplorable)

fear and disorder must rapidly be dealt with ….let's throw God, goodness, faith and hope into the fray, shall we? Great contender for Emile's contest, Eve.

Dear Eve I also think in the same way as you feel. Compassionate persons with adequate competence are rare. I feel deep to care for orphans or street children n wish to do something concrete for deprived seniors but can't find outlet. Love.
