Doctor Johnson Cried Out

Doctor Sam Johnson
In London one day
Cried out, “ ‘Twould be awesome
To look up a word, in a book say,
In order to ensure that the spellings are right
Of all of the words that are written these days.
(Not that I need it, but Boswell you might).”
And so he set out to write one, and so it arrived,
Revolutionary, resplendent, in the
Year of Our Lord, seventeen hundred and fifty five.

I like it! I don't know if it's based on history, but I hope so.

Oops! I got the date wrong; changed it to 1755, (which is actually before he met Boswell. Chalk it up to poetic license).

Thanks. Johnson probably didn't say that exactly, but the year is right.
