Do Your Best

Do your best with gracious zest Rest if you must from work’s test Minimize stressful pain Falter not to share love’s gain Solve life’s puzzles with God’s light Lavish self with peace delight… Tickle heart midst hopeful blow Do cheer with merry* caring glow. Do your best, and you’ll be blest Relax… since you’ve reached gladness-crest Minutes, enjoy… devoid of strain Favor blissfulness to reign So lay down your burden-blight Laugh out loud; yes… that’s right Till smile reaches tomorrow Do thank the Lord for blessings’ flow.
*Proverbs 15:13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. (May be sung to the tune of "Do-re-mi" From the musical, Sound of Music) March 28, 2022 6th place, "To The Tune Of Musicals - Part Two - Parody" Lyric Poetry Writing Contest; Sponsored by Natasha L Scragg; judged on 4/13/2022.
