Do You Think Old Birds Dream of Flying

Do you think old birds dream of flying Of Catching one more heavenly up draft beneath their tired wings Before they come in for their final landing Maybe dogs and cats dream of playing with children that once loved them And race horses run faster than the speed of sound in their sleep They say elephants remember everything And so do I knowing that it's not always a good thing to remember But no matter all is forgiven now in the name of love And I will dream of you tonight

Thank you for suggesting this poem to me. It is stunning! The pleasure to be found in dream and memories should always outweighs the pain.

Birds will dream till their wings can flutter anymore...so dogs..horses and so human.Age doesn t matter when it comes to love ..nor our tired hearts can keep us from searching.I can feel pain here as if someone used the heart of another and then left it with the wind.Forgivness is a great comfort and new beginnings with the same person or someone else a healer.Your verses carry lots of sentiment.Tnks for reading my humble verse
