Do You Remember When

Do you remember when
Life was actually fun
And hot summer days
Found freedom with the sun.

The windows rolled down
The breeze fanning your hair
Cruising with your friends
And laughing without a care.

Do you remember when
Music sang a song
That each of us could relate to
With emotions beating strong.

We believed in our dreams
And thought we could fly
Our feet left the ground
As we reached for the sky.

Do you remember when
Your spirit was free
An untamed passion
That only you could see.

With the first snowfall
Your body would tingle
A season of excitement
Caroling its own jingle.

With bell-bottom jeans
Dancing to a disco beat
Adventure was something
We opened our minds to greet.

Do you remember when
You said you couldn’t wait
But now that were older
Time is our only fate.

Oh yes girlfriend. I remember only too well. A great nostalgic poem that makes me miss that spirit of freedom deeply. Love, Shar
