Do You Miss It
How can you not miss it,
As much as I?
I remember not long ago
I saw love in your eye
Then out of nowhere
A storm came along
And no longer were the birds
Singing our song
The green meadows soon faded
The leaves withered to grey
And our days in all of their beauty
Now are fading away
How can you not miss it,
As much as I?
I remember not long ago
I saw love in your eye
Time has slowed still
The sand has stopped its flow
And even though a week has gone by
It feels as if it were so long ago
We would lay there and talk
As if this were something concrete
And when I was getting comfortable
You pulled it all out under my feet
How can you not miss it,
As much as I?
I remember not long ago
I saw love in your eye
Today, I feel invisible
If I were to die
If I were to disappear forever
Would you even cry?
You make me feel
As if we did not ever exist
When just last week
I felt the warmth of your kiss
How can you not miss it,
As much as I?
I remember not long ago
I saw love in your eye
But here I am ignored
Alone in a crowded room
Praying prayers to myself
Hoping despair does not loom
I pray for the courage
To go just one more day
Even though what I really want
Is just a friendly hey
How can you not miss it,
As much as I?
I remember not long ago
I saw love in your eye
I pray that tomorrow I wake
And pain is no more
I pray that tomorrow
I will see you at my door
We can hold each other tight
Just as we always had
And at the end the day
I do not feel this bad
How can you not miss it,
As much as I?

I saw love in your eye
To be or not to be
Is that the question at hand?
I once saw our footprints
Side by side in the sand
I can not live with the image
Of you not in my life
Without you I am alone
I am left with toil and strife
How can you not miss it,

So here I write a letter
Telling of my goodbye
But please answer my question
Before I lay to die
