Do You Know Me

Do You Know Me?
You think you know me? Think again. I am not who you think I am. I am more complex than what your eyes see. Many layers like an onion Try peeling them away And you may see the real me. If I mean that much to you, There I am - See me.
There you go again. Looking at reflections Thru’ glazed eyes. Hearing echoes of my voice Not listening to what I mean Thru’ half-deaf ears. That’s not me You see.
Many dark curtains Many thick walls Many heavy mists If I mean that much to you, You’ll see thru’ the haze You’ll walk thru’ the maze And may find the real me You should get to know.

this is the kind of poem that usually only a woman would write and I am glad to have found this one to read of yours. I too would love a man that could REALLY see me. That is what we want : to be seen and more importantly, be understood! (if not pampered and lavished with gifts. haha) Loved reading this.

Hi Pandita! Congratulations on your fine win! I am sure I had read and commented on this poem before, but can't seem to find anything to prove it! // It takes time for a person to get to know another really well. Peeling layers on the way to discovery and understanding is a very good way to put it. Also passing through mists and mazes is excellent. Hugs // paul
