Do You Have a Valid Reason
I want to write a poem about
Just in case you are mad at me
Do you have a valid reason
to be mad at me?
Is it something I do
Or is it something
you think I do?
If it is the latter
I didn’t do it
Is it something I say?
Or is it something you wish I say?
If it is what I say
then I can’t help it
It’s the truth
I can always be wrong
But for the moment
That person is not me
I wasn’t there?
I totally got hold up
By my erratic schedule
So the next time
you are mad at me
Just think you may not
want to be mad at me
Because I have a valid reason
And you don’t
Know
