Do You

Do you think of me
at all? Does my name
cross your mind
in the darkness of night?
When you pause to take
a breath, does your life pass
in color or black and white?
A memory of hands
held or kisses shared. Words
whispered in passion and need.
Hopes and heart-wrenching dreams
freely given out into the air
between two bodies.

Do you remember me
at all? Does my scent
flutter past your consciousness
in the tenderest of
moments? When you embrace your
other, does she know I exist?
A memory of legs, wrapped
in silent agreement. Letters
written and etched
in fondness and love. Feelings
matched and mated,
disappearing in the mist
of passing time.

Sad poem, deeply felt and great images to add to the subjects disappointment and bitterness from an unfair ending.
