Do We Seek Joy Daily

Joy is easily garnered
Fostered and held dear
But do we seek her daily?

She prances past us on fat fairy toes
Hoping to be engaged or summoned for a consult
Yet we sit in dark areas, cloaked, with folded arms.

Refusing to allow joy to uplift, revive, or delight us.
Falling in love with humdrum boring feelings that do not serve us well.
But rather keep dowdy ugly thoughts in our mind

Joy is persistent and relentless; she is tenacious and enthusiastic.
We look up briefly, as she sprinkles us with her unique pixie dust.
Understanding our soul needs something more, but not sure what.
Forgetting to seek her daily, sadly.
