Do We Ever Really Say Goodbye
Memories stay as pictures with words in the mind.
We may try to erase some, still we can’t rewind.
Experiences become part of our intricate lives.
Changes remain sweet as honey from bee hives.
Feelings are formed in one way or another good or bad.
Saying goodbye does not undo the times we have had.
What is all this about ‘letting go’?
As if we are not supposed to feel all that we know.
Life is not to be sifted like flour, poured like cream,
Tossed like a salad with veggies steamed.
Life is to be honored in the treasure chest of our heart.
We are exactly who we are, all experiences played a part.
