Do Soul Mates Exist?

How could I love someone who doesn't exist?
But, you did didn't you?
My heart tells me you do exist.
There's a space where you lived.
No! Where you live.
Your name is on the door.
It's decorated with your smile.
The light from your eyes streams through the windows.
I imagined your voice; your laughter.
I know you, but I don't.
I feel as if I knew you.
And I did.
But I don't.
We've never met, but I DO know you - so well.
You live inside me; my soul mate.
