    Do pulses rise as I draw near

  Their former teacher, whom once they feared
    Do they yet tremble ~ or hold me dear

They hold you Dear Gershon, like they we are your students reading your essays in Poetry and you have quite the following and support. I would love to read their comments if they were on the Soup reading your Poetry. I am sure they wold love it, and realize the old Teacher still had it in him to teach. Thanks for sharing...

Thank you, John. Most of them actually do... I taught for 30 years, after a few years in agriculture and 13 years in sales and customer service.

Oh, Ilene. You have stumbled on 'Mr. Memory Himself.' I actually remembered the names of the first 1,800 students to whom I taught English as a Second Language in a 'Russian program' in the mornings. lol. After 1,800, I 'hit the proverbial wall.' All told, I taught about 5,500 students in that program. (1991 - 2004).
