Do All To the Glory of God
Sin comes in many forms and ways
creeping up catching us unaware
now where does that leave smoking
up in smoke as satan lays his snare
The bible shows all's lawful but not all a help (1 Corinthians 6: 12)
our bodies are connected to Christ a member
indeed are a temple as the holy spirit lives within(1 Corinthians 6:19)
received from God belonging to His holy chamber
Christ bought you with His own blood (1 Corinthians 6: 20)
a price that glorifies God for His own
so does smoking glorify God almighty?
obviously not for Jesus is all holy alone
Idolatry is hated completely by God (1 Corinthians 10: 14)
for He seeks His own to flee
nothing is to be your own idol
even to a cig must not bow the knee
Although all things be lawful, but not for the best (1 Corinthians 10: 23)
smoking may be within law but not for your good
God wishes ' do all to the glory of God'
listen to His counsel and follow it as you should
(This is my thoughts on the question ' do you think smoking is a sin', which I do believe it is in which I have given scriptural reasons of why it is. I am not judging on this as that's left to God alone and I know some Christians do smoke and that doesn't mean they are not Christians because they do but God knows His own and enables them to do His will.)
“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything."
-1 Corinthians 6: 12
"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, "
1 Corinthians 6: 19
"for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
1 Corinthians 6: 20
"Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry." -1 Corinthians 10: 14
“All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up." 1 Corinthians 10: 23
