Divorce

Who am I? I am the wife The hidden victim The unheard voice Who made the wrong choice? To become that hurtful victim, Who am I? I am the pen That will reveal all lustful men For choosing the wrong hen For taking the wrong bend And becoming their families’ bitter end, Who am I? I am the child you forgot We are the children you begot The daughter you lamed The son you gave blame The children whose names carry your shame We are the victims left in this cycle of pain The unheard voices that you chose to carry your lifelong stain.

True dat; children are the ones who pay the biggest price in divorce. Good one.

Beautifully and painfully written. Divorce affects so many people, and often the victims of divorce are left to fend for themselves after. I get it. I relate.

Thank you for your comment when writing this poem I thought about the unheard voices of so many victims in which today's society brushes aside.
