Division Course
There’s more than one America
and maybe more than two
I’m sad because I’m thinking this
and it seems it’s true
The country that I thought I had
the one I thought I saw
was full of opportunity
and thought to be for all
But then, perhaps it never was
Illusions pushed aside
Yet, some want things to stay the same
Some cannot abide
Politics and poverty
Wealth beyond belief
A Civil War division course
Where is the relief
Manipulation fuels the hate
Judgement quick to come
This happens when our way of life
is not so good for some
