Distraction

I must turn my attention away from the scene
This rapidly darkening dreadful dream
Games I will play or books I will read
Yea will I smoke til my mind is freed
Til the tempest is past and the land washed clean

To silence the Crow and his stabbing scream
I commit an act I once thought obscene
My head can't handle this speed
I must turn my attention away

O I'll say a prayer to the Queen
Make a pilgrimage to a place I've been
Until it's too late to take heed
O I'll sing a blithe song indeed
I must turn my attention away

This is beautifully dark, and your rhyme scheme only serves to make your point more powerful. I look forward to reading more of your work.
