Distant Pulse

Tear drops echo, through space and time. A life of distortion, a life lost that you might not ever find. Can’t you hear the cries at night? Don’t you know everything is not alright? Walk slowly, you might hear the sound Of a distant pulse of a heart that was found. Someone found it, over there alone. Picked it up and carried it home. So in your bubble world things are just grand. Pretend in your perfect world. Open your heart, try and understand. Her heart cries on the inside for things that shine. Her heart cries on the outside for a life that can’t rewind. So don’t go looking, she isn’t even there. She’s hiding in the shadows of sorrow and despair.

Thank you for sharing your poetry Jodie. Poets here offer such diverse writings and to me it is a pleasure to read each and everyone. I will not be here at the Soup to read from Friday through Monday. I hope you will find mountains of inspiration during that time. I look forward to reading when I return. Have a great weekend. Love, Carol
