Distant Bells
The bells of distant memory
a whisper might disturb
Escape the garish forces
flooding every sense
I think I hear those bells
think I hear them pause
in counter-habitude for what has passed
Something in the nature of Earth's breathing porous life demands a rest
Now again I hear those distant bells commence
