Dissension

Christ founded the church for believers as a calling,
but dissension in many churches is appalling.
He wants harmony, not disquieting,
we should be pleasing to our loving King.
Some people have felt turned away,
some for being gay.

How can we serve God united,
when some are slighted,
The church is His bride,
He will come for her in a blessing time,
set your eyes and hearts on He who reigns,
let the church be welcoming and not cause pain. ~

So many religions all with their own interpretations, yet there is only but one God. Tom

Hi Tom, thank you so much for reading and commenting on my poem. I know a young family who recently went to a church cookout as prospective new members. They told me they did not feel welcomed. And U.S. churches wonder why membership is down. I'm glad your recent surgery has helped you. Many blessings to you and your family. :)

Sounds so 'obvious.' Isn't it a pity that religion can cause dissension?!

Hi Gershon, I was just telling Tom that I know a young family that as prospective new members of a church recently went to the church's July cookout. They told me they did not feel welcome. And U.S. churches wonder why membership is down. So sad. Thank you for reading my poem. I hope you have a creative Wednesday full of inspiration. Shalom :)
