Disrobing ego
A flashy robe doth ego wear
to hide its bumps and bruises
camouflage, distracts discerners
from its many ruses
A child realizes what’s beneath
is what to stay away from
Though we adults can never peel
an onion's layer of mystery
Thus, in the end, the final blow
when before the Lord, it must confess
it should have worn
