Disguise

He walked through the world that he was no longer concerned for.
Shadows wrapped around him like a cloak and hid his true self. Pain
and regret followed his steps. Anger and sorrow beside him on a silent
march. The land he walked on seemed barren. Those few areas of hope
and life fading as he reached for them. He soon ignored them, and they
stopped appearing. For years he walked alone searching for the key. He
could not find it in himself, couldn not find it in his God. His bonds had
faded and his true self hidden behind a mask. He felt his strength
leaving him as he moved forward. The wind pushed against him as his
cloak weighed him down. The procession he followed leading to only one
destination. He asked the light to forgive him. He would not be able to
find the key in time.
