Disenchanted Sandcastles

Disenchanted sandcastles

Alone on a silent shoreline,
sea breeze emotions paint my skin
Sands of time slip away as I count the stars
wondering why so many seem to smile,
when I don’t

Storm fence pickets stand straight,
weathered of years watching
Holding at bay the impending dunes
where my footprints once shared these moments
with another

Salt water teardrops fall,
meeting the beach in sorrow’d pools,
lonely silhouettes of my heart shaped shadows
empty and vacant, longing for that one
to forgive

Disenchanted sandcastles disappear with the tide
as do these words we compiled together
never to be written again, on paper or in the sand
Now I only watch my dreams fade into the horizon,
vanishing forever

I love the ocean and that was beautiful; had to "fav" it.

Losing some one leaves a mark on our heart. It is not easy to pick up life where we left off. It is hard to let go of some one when words were spoken. It shatters our dreams and hopes for the future. I wish you only the best. This was written from the heart. I can feel it. It was very nicely said. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thank you Bette. It was written from a place in my heart that feels extremely empty but your kindness helps fill that empty spot. Thank you again.

Wow, heartbreaking process of letting go of dreams. The lines about never writing the words Again ...hit hard. Well written.
