Discipleship
DISCIPLESHIP
I can now follow Jesus, and believe in all He’s done,
Accept Him as my Savior and be one of His sons,
But there is so much different than just to follow Him
And know He has forgiven me from all of my sin.
But to now be His disciple, to do all He commands
Is more than just to follow, it’s to yield to all His plans.
To go where’er He leads me, and do what all He says,
To say, “Your will be done, Lord,” each time I kneel to pray.
To change to the new creature, old things to pass away,
And ever be so willing to die to self each day.
There’s followers and disciples in God’s big family,
May I be His disciple to listen willingly.
I know it won’t be easy, He never promised such,
But if I will just listen, I know I’ll feel His touch.
And He will join there with me to help me reach that goal
Of being His disciple with heart and mind and soul.
