Notes About The Poem
My first poem I wrote back in high school.
Disappointment
Abstract emotions of wants and needs,
Irreplaceable.
Forever parallels within an ideal.
The overwhelming feeling of desire,
Manipulating what was once clear.
There were goals, and there were visions.
The foresight of something beautiful,
The dream of dreams,
Shattered by her black Excalibur.
The aspire of wanting,
The attachment of a need,
Knowing, feeling that the heart is right.
It was the same as me,
Wanting that reality more than anything,
But not being able to, Understand?
Running through thorns
within the forgotten forest,
Seeking what can’t be given.
Everything was cold.
The fiery spirit of happiness,
Suppressed by a rekindled spirit.
Living in a state of despondency,
Only then do wishes scratch and claw the surface,
to claim an unobtainable destiny.
Still hoping for fulfillment.
Worthless promises,
Useless devotion.
There is nothing left but this appendage,
This feeling of despair,
This disappointment.
