Disability Dreams
I want to be like everyone else
To run and laugh with others
I don’t want to be different
Seeing others having fun
When all I do is watch
Let me be just like you
Don’t treat me differently
I still have dreams and wants
Like you do but mine
Are are hard to fulfil
Let me rip those bonds away
That restrain and hold me back
Look past what you see
My eyes will tell you my story
And see me truly
Don’t just look away
My disability does not define me
Everyday I am reminded
But what you see
Is not all of me.
