Dimmeliel of the Storm

The sky darkens as Dimmeliel weeps
her clouded heart battered and broken
Lightning splits the blackened heavens
Thunder roars with her endless song
Lone Dimmiliel, canst not her heart break no more?
And the icy rain rushes down
Mingling with her omnipresent tears
Freezing like her shattered heart did long ago
And yet she sings,
raging like a storm
to the storm
for the benefit of the storm
Blasting the landscape with her anger
Blaspheming love and all of its inequities
Sweet Dimmeliel falls to her knees
Beating the ground with clenched fist
Perfectly in time with her heart-wrenching dirge
The wind buffets her wild hair, whipped like a beaten slave
The hail gashes her fair, delicate skin
But unrelenting she keeps singing
Unstoppable in her folly
an ode to the storm
honouring the storm
Dimmeliel's song will hardly end.
