Dime of Time

The snake slithered past the bush, It was open and free, They all shivered in fear, At his sight, They thought it might come around, And leave a sting with a nasty bite, They rushed to protected areas, Soon a charmer came along, He looked for the snake in the bushes, And found him slithering there, He did his usual routine, And got him in the bag right there, He brought him home, Only to make him tame, He did so in a few days, And held soon a street show, Snake was now the star performer, The very people who were scared, Now rounded his show to watch, It was only a matter of time, That as free it was worth millions , And now only a thrown dime.
