Dime a Dozen
Speak softly to me,
and tell me no lies,
I see the hurt and heartache,
flow from deep within your
eyes.
You've trusted me until now,
so trust me further more,
as I teach you of the stories,
the legends and the lore,
of women who walked before
me,
and women who are yet to
pass,
the secret of your future,
and a love that's sure to last.
I want to see you happy,
I want to kiss away your tears,
and take away the heartache,
to come in future years.
But the most that I can do now,
is smile and look away,
hoping you can listen,
to all I have to say.
You tell me t hat you love me,
this I know is true,
you say there will never be
another,
but only if you choose.
Granted she'll never be
identical,
down to age or name,
but girls like me are a dime a
dozen,
and that will never change.
You may not understand it now,
but someday when you choose
to see,
many girls will come and go,
many just like me.
Someday when you're ready,
should there ever come a time,
when you decide you want me
back,
just ask...
Ill loan you a dime.
