Diletta

Engraved in mind
place and time
of light
sparkling hearts
puzzled in delight
social disparity
by strength of love
blinded.
Left invited
skipping like a lamb
on grass yet tender
before the mower bent,
back home had death
its glacial darkness left
through the cracks
your sun was shining yet
worse yet the silence
that your sound swept
behind the veil
you never answered back
tears still calling
or praying to forget.
