Dilemma
A cold happiness
has gripped my heart,
A warm grief has departed,
I am left as I was –
And indifferent friend I have gained,
A sympathetic foe I have lost!
To keep pace with time
how hard didn’t I try?
But in the anxiety
left my destination behind,
I jumped sky high
to sweep down
a handful of shimmering stars
but missed my foothold.
I rejoiced in woe
and grieve now in felicity –
Why do I seek to reap
the wild winds of death?
Why do I shy away from
the balmy breeze of life?
