Digital Love
He’s on your mind.
You think about him and your heart flutters
Falling asleep has never been easier
Yet harder
As you think about the future and go into great detail
You “love” him.
The notification sends shivers down your spine
Not chilling ones
The contrary
You “love” him.
Not the notification left by him…
You don’t know him.
All you know is how it feels when his name crosses your screen
Digital love isn’t real love
You don’t really know him
You do know the sound of an alert that happens to be from him
He hasn’t responded in over a day
Is he okay
You don’t know him
But I “love” him
You “love” the idea of him
Behind screens he’s a dream but in real life he’s nowhere to be found
You dream of real love but you live through
Digital love.
