Differentiated perception

from a distance
the dead leaf resembled
that beautiful sun bird
I had seen yesterday

flawed perception
taken to be the truth 
delighted my heart 
for a few moments

likewise looking outward
at myriad objects 
imagined as real
veils the light of Self
