Different paths
When the light we shared
turns into shadows in silence,
I feel it’s time to let go of each other,
like leaves falling in autumn
without noise, without struggle.
You walked beside me,
but our hearts began to speak another language.
No cries, no shouts,
only a small reflection in calm water
saying, “It’s time for us to go our separate ways.”
Love that once burned bright now slowly cools,
like a book closing after its final page.
No victims, no blame,
only respect for what we lived,
and respect for what we need on our own.
I choose not to look back,
I choose to listen to my heart,
just as you choose to listen to yours.
We are two trees that grew in the same garden,
but our roots now grow in different directions.
Life goes on.
Smiles return.
But now, in this distance,
there is a calm that brings peace,
a lesson in love that learns to let freedom flourish.
We are breaths for each other
that have passed,
but now, each of us takes our own path,
with hearts heavy, yet free.
