Different in Spiral

Different in Spiral

You're an endless song that spirals spinning through my hollow skull,
you're like an unfulfilled dream floating through hidden parallel realities,
you're like a handshake that burns my skin with violet electric cold,
you're like a ship that thrashes in a storm made from its own waves.

You're like a bird in sublime flight that flies backward through time toward nest,
you're like a love without torment but full of painful and sweet ecstasy,
you're like a ray of sun that burns in black illuminating the radiant darkness,
you're like a shining star that dies being reborn in every living second.

You are the lantern I the candle—you contain the fire I am the fire itself confused,
you are the river I the sea—you flow toward me I swallow you and birth you,
you are large I small but my small contains your large entire and hollow,
you are light I darkness but my darkness shines brighter than you.

You are hope I indifference—but my indifference hopes without knowing,
you are present I forgetting—but my forgetting presents you clearer than now,
you are future I past—but my past birthed you still unborn,
you are beautiful I ugly—but my ugly makes you beautiful through living contrast.

You're like a honeycomb from which drips venom sweet as cosmic nectar,
you're like a warm caress that scratches my skin with nails of rough velvet,
you're like the fern from forest growing inverse with roots in acid blue sky,
you're sweet like blackberry jam fermented in barrels of full green moon.

You're all I'm missing and all I have extra without knowing I exist,
you're the postman bringing good news written with ink from burned red tears,
you're like the sun that rises setting simultaneously in all possible directions,
you're the eternally immortal love that dies and revives with every breath.

You are heaven I hell—but my hell is your heaven seen through broken mirror,
you are forgiveness I sin—but my sin forgives you even more,
you are luck I misfortune—but my misfortune is luck disguised in ash,
you are waking I sleep—but my sleep dreams more awake than your waking.

You are warmth I coolness—but my coolness burns hotter than fire,
you are joy I sadness—but my sadness laughs with tears of happiness,
you are truth I lie—but my lie speaks the truth backward correctly,
you are comfort I storm—but my storm comforts you with winds of silk.

And even though we don't match we merge like water with fire in magic steam,
forever we will love each other through the opposites that make us whole and scattered,
you are the endless song I am the silence that sings without powerful voice,
and together we dissolve into each other until we no longer know which of us is who.
