Die In the Waves

Heavy breaths escape my chest,
leave my lips and surface the air around my face
I step back and stare at the ocean, its horizon reaches up into space

I've been running
now my legs
to tired to carry me further, have lead me here
my journey once so far
is now so near.

I run out into the dark waters
waves tug at my body with hungry pulls
the light in the sky sinks so low
all i see is shadows, of the diving sea gulls.

I plunge underneath the surface, holding my breath
My mind races with thoughts i dont understand
I reach down
Fingers grazing the sand..

Under the waves im not alone
I have endless area, free to roam
I close my eyes let the dark water swallow me
I don't plan to surface you see?

I choose to die here in this ocean bliss
Who wouldn't want to be a part of this.
