didn't go

I didn’t go to work today. 

Didn’t stagger to the shower,
   grab my latte   gotten cold,
Didn't forget   to grab my mind
   lying there from yesterday.

Didn't run to catch
   and nearly miss
that city bus   bussing
   foggy me
   going to work today.
 
Didn't pay   too much for lunch,
   or forget   to take my break,
Didn't sit   frozen   at my desk
   trying to recall   the why
   of why   oh why
Did I ever   end up here.

Didn’t fight
   the homeward bound.
Just didn’t   go to work.
