Did You Have Any Fear

It was dark in the forest where You knelt and You prayed.
The apostles were close and they slept where they laid.
You prayed to the Father to take what was in Your cup.
Judas was coming, it was going to erupt.

All that You wanted was His will to be done.
It wasn't for You, You were God's Holy Son.
Your time was at hand and the hour was near.
You knew it was coming, did You have any fear?

You returned to Your friends to find them fast asleep.
You knew they were in trouble, You knew they were in deep.
Suddenly soldiers are right there in the midst.
As Judas betrays the Son of man with a kiss.

You let them have their way, they thought their will had been done.
It was the will of the father, You were God's Holy Son.
You told Peter to stop when he cut off that mans ear.
You knew it was coming, did You have any fear?

As You prayed to the Father the tears flowed as You cried.
Then You had to tell Peter three times You'ld be denied.
Saint Peter said He'd die before he let them take You.
He was in over his head, he didn't know what to do.

Peter never thought he'd let their will be done.
It cut him so deep, he loved God's Holy Son.
You told him of the rooster and the crow he would hear.
You knew it was coming, did You have any fear?

They put You in chains and they led You away.
No one had a clue of the debt You would pay.
Bloody and raw they put You up on that cross.
You paid for our sins with Your life that it cost.

You cried, "Father forgive them they don't know what they've done!"
Then You gave up Your Spirit, You were God's Holy Son.
Where You went next was never really clear.
You knew it was coming, did You have any fear?

You were all by yourself, they left You all alone
when the heavenly Father had to call His Son home.
I can't comprehend how You could stand all that pain.
But I know in my heart that You would do it again.

Now on heaven and earth God's will, will be done.
Covered by the blood of His most Holy Son.
When I think of Lord Jesus I'll always shed a tear.
He knew it was coming, He didn't have any fear.
