Did I Telll Him?
I wonder if I told him,
Do you think he really knew
How much his daughter loved him
Ere I bade him sad adieu?
Did I take his sacrifice for granted?
Lay his love upon the shelf?
Thinking not of what he'd done for me
But only of selfish self?
Heavenly Father will you find him?
Will you seek him ut up there?
Will you tell how much I loved him
And will forever care?
On this earth, Dear Heavenly Father,
He was second unto none,
And I just can't wait to tell him
Until my race down here is run.
Do you think he reallly knew it,
When I left those words unsaid
That each night I thanked You for him,
On my knees beside my bed?
So to you, each well loved daughter
And each proud and manly son,
Don't forget to thank your parents
For the good things they have done.
Just go and tell them, now today
Before it is too late.
It is hard to send your words of thanks
Up through that golden gate.
