Did I Love

I say I love myself
but found home in blue n white
Letting the pills fill the emptiness

I say I love myself
yet starve, calling skipped meals a diet
shattering mirrors with avoidance
this body I hate

I say I love myself
so I embrace pain like an abused child
licking the wounds of empty promises while picking wildflowers

I say I love myself
but wear the mask of smiles that lie for me
pushing away those who genuinely love
for who can love destruction

I say I love myself
but built walls, calling it protection
Praying no one makes the climb
but fervently pray they do

I say I love myself
yet wish I never existed
perhaps the pain would end
