Diamonds
Through eyes of soot, hidden
in deepest chambers of earth, where
pain is left to die amongst the dearth
I see diamonds, sparking in the grit
looking past the s**t and routine
no expectations of what is seen
but what is buried deep, inside of me
I shine,
with her glow and with her gleam
a reflection of fortitude and free will
dug in with the moments
I mine her every move
each side so very smooth
and rich, in character
amongst the flaws
but to her she never saw
and never will
dawn awakens again
and clearly I see
