Diamond In the Rough
Everybody agrees he’s got those talents
however, he doesn’t pay much attention
described as an easy-go-lucky guy
he couldn’t care less in certain ways.
Oh, what a man who doesn’t see beyond
oh, what a man who knows so well
yet he goes away and thinks no more
he’s an asset, a wonderful person.
As St Augustine once said in his letters
“you’re a gift from God, and what
makes of yourself is your gift to Him”.
it’s really true and I should tell him too.
His ability to talk and write with depth
like essays, letters, or reflections, so far
he’s a great man who puts his creative mind
to many examples with his literary style.
But his moral significance in life’s dwelling
his imagery of discipline in many ways
he reminds me of those who live in fantasy
with hardly any vision nor sense of identity.
As the old saying goes, ‘use it or lose it’
reminds me of himself who finds meaningless
he remains dormant, timid, and inactive
to take part in the context of service and resources.
Enshrined in life’s celebration of relationship
a genesis of truth that proves constant action
over all forms of sharing in justice and love
as a disciple who knows how to share them.
Along with strengths and needs as a person
his goals and priorities seem no direction
his sense of other and vision in today’s culture
a diamond in the rough who evolves with regret.
