Dialogue with the Purple Rose
Oh Sweet rose of the night come
and dine with me tonight
drop your petals in the bosom of the sea
and raise your eyes towards the skies
and gaze at the stars as they pass by
What sweet fragrance flying in the air
Spreading its petals far and near
Oh purple rose of the night come
and be my shelter tonight
I have waited for almost ten year
And all I see is your shadow dancing in the rain
And all my waiting seems to be in vain
Oh purple rose you are so kind
You are filled with love, laughter and delight
What sweet music is playing in your heart
I can feel the melody when the day starts
What peculiar sound is blowing with the wind
If you listen carefully you can hear it
when your mind is still
Purple rose you are the remedy for my soul
I can hear the thunder rolling and horses galloping
and the Duke of Canterbury chanting a strange hymn
as he tries to wake up the universe from its slumber
It is a decade old since the universe rapture his soul
and the multitude sits on top of the mountain waiting
for fish and bread to break the terrible curse and the basket on
Altar tells the tales of mankind physical hunger
It is just like yesterday when a miracle passes my way
I will board the train and travel from country to country
until it find its destiny. Purple rose will you me accompany
on this final journey?
The terrain is rough but we will have good luck
Oh what sweet joy awaits you,
someone special is admiring you
And they can see you,
someone is waiting to take you across the sea
and your spirit will be free
and you will have a grand jubilee,
spread your fragrance around
and walk boldly through the town
you stirs hearts far and near
Purple rose you are so dear
we have so much to share
I can see you sitting over there.
Purple rose you are so enduring
And It’s time to arrange the meeting..
