Devotion In Sight

Embracing the change I need, Optimistic hope fueling a mind. This tragedy planted a seed, Of a pessimism left behind. I’m off to find my own way, To find myself and something to believe in. I’ve heard what you had to say, It just took me too long to begin. We’ve not been down this road before, Or at least it’s been so many years. I’m not going to be bitter anymore, Let’s hear the omnipotent cheers. Too long I’ve been frozen in time. But as the icy depression thaws, I’m free to believe in this rhyme, As I hear your soothing lulls. This is something I must believe, Please tell me that this is for real. You had no other option but to leave, For I’ve left nothing for you to feel. I’ll show you the progress I’ve begun to make, If you show me the way to the truth. There’s no other option for me to take, To regain the love once spent in youth. A sense of betterment I take in stride, A sense of what’s on the other side. I’m counting forwards until we reunite. Nothing can stop me, I see the devotion in sight.
