Devine Recognition
god is a loving god i'm told -
but might not fit to be so controlled
as to only love us mind and soul
fear and loathe can not take hold
if god only wants the best for you
is what most mankind does not eschew
yet maybe it's not a crystal view
and perception of god is largely untrue
any god of our knowing is very limited
to our own feeble understanding exhibited
a divinity so constrained from infinite
can only be to our humanity attributed
what really can we know of god
does he sit above and merrily applaud
or maybe hit-n-run with quick maraud
likely unseen behind some human facade
faith in god is never truly unshaken
it wanes and waxes as our reasons awaken
we can not be faulted for being mistaken
thinking our deity has left us forsaken
so judge for yourself what you know
and accept that it just may not be so
our divine failure is not a fatal blow
but merely our humanness, so apropos
