Deviants and Divine
Deviants and Divine
You are my beloved hero who stole my heart,
Healing my wounded soul and mending what was torn apart.
Everything turned the moment I saw your divine eyes,
My soul lit up with joy, with peace, with skies.
Our love is pure and holy at the same time,
A prayer whispered soft, not bound by crime.
You held my broken pieces without demand,
And taught my grief to breathe again by your hand.
But there is the other story of this internal love,
A shadow watching from the edge of us.
I saw a devil between us with lusty eyes,
He swallowed my soul in his hungry lies.
He tries to steal my love and wear me like a medal on his chest,
And now he threatens you — to end your rest.
One gives me heaven, one offers me chains,
One is the cure, one is the stains.
Between purity and devil the battle is drawn,
Love fights lust from dusk until dawn.
So I chose tragedy to keep you safe and free,
I broke my own heart to set the devil off of thee.
I sacrificed our love and walked away in silence,
Let him think he won, to keep you from his violence.
Now I bleed alone, while you live unharmed,
My love became the shield that kept you armed.
The divine in me died, so the divine in you could stay —
This is how I loved you: by letting you go away.
