The land can rejuvenate in time but the devastation to the wildlife is heartbreaking:-( hugs jan xx

The pictures, the poem, the image, the message, the implications, … the scarred earth, … the playing of taps... I would say that your (photos and) three lines are 'visceral' enough for a winner in the contest. Best always, gw

We've had moorland decimated by someone having a bonfire and a stray spark igniting the grass and just careless disposal of cigarettes after a prolonged dry spell:-( hugs jan xx

It is so tragic in so many ways Anne Lise, I know from the fire on Vesuvuis that 100 year old farms where destroyed and precious crops such as the grape vines will take many many years to get back to how they were and they lost 8% of their food in what is quite a poor area:-( hugs jan xx

So so sad Mick and the devastation these fires cause can be so catastrophic - we saw the result of the fire at Vesuvius it was heartbreaking to hear of the hardship it has caused:-( hugs Jan xx
