Destructive Solitude

One foot stuck in the tar pits of my way, A fossil forming with time, Me and my nibbling conscience, Sinking slowly but it’s mine, Whispers like razors, It’s trouble, the way that i’m jogging Chasing shadows far into the night, Every step a hopeless confession, Nothings going save me or stop it, A runaway rhythm, The horizon taunts, distant but sure, But my feet only know forward, Seeing everything through my stained glass, Too afraid I can only hope it will pass.
