Destruction
A storm raged and would not be pacified-tearing violently at everything in its path,
it showed no mercy -its excited destruction only seemed to elate it,
An anger dispatched from the heavens, the wind and rain it's chosen weapons.
Dark grey skies illuminated white and blue, lightening bolts accompanied a symphony of thunder,
the sea joined force in submission to a higher power, waves grew higher and crashed angrily to shore-stirring rocks and battering fragile cliffs.
Trees bent this way and that fighting against the elements, but soon succumbed and were plucked up from the earth-to be thrown about like autumn leaves.
Hours passed filled with noise, relentless-growing in power, it seemed it would not stop until the earth was destroyed.
The, just as suddenly as it began, all was silent- all was still, all that could be heard was the gentle rhythm of light rain,
God's anger was spent and all appeared washed anew, but for the destruction that could not be undone,
God was pleased with His punishment.
